Human Resources for Businesses and Not-for-Profits

The human resources function can seem daunting and impossible to comprehend. This half day workshop will introduce the small business owner or not-for-profit director to practical ways of creating a sound HR function. The workshop will include tips on making the right hiring decisions, application forms, new hire paperwork, disciplinary documentation, avoiding wrongful terminations, and unemployment claims. Creating employee handbooks and other helpful forms will be discussed. Participants will receive a folder of useful forms to take back to their organizations.

Women and Leadership Series

Leadership is an interesting and complex concept. If you are interested in learning about the historical definition of leadership, the concepts of leadership as well as what makes great leaders, then this half day workshop is for you. This workshop series will focus on various topics such as The Crisis of Leadership, Thinking and Learning about Leadership, Ways Women Lead, and Would Women Lead Differently.

The Travelogue, Your Own Personal Journey

Have you ever gone on a trip, come back and thought “why didn’t I take the time to write some of my experiences down?” This half day workshop will talk about traveling and journaling as a way to capture important moments as well as helping us along our personal journey. Judy has over 20 years experience of travelogue journaling and loves to share her how to’s on this great subject.

Understanding Organizational Culture

The benefit of knowing your organizational culture is to better understand its strengths and weaknesses. It can help you become more aware of how it functions and what can be done to do so more effectively. By using the OTCI, Organizational and Team Culture IndicatorTM, developed by Carol Pearson, Ph.D., Judy can help you understand the culture of your organization. The OTCI helps to identify your organization’s core culture, its values and its strengths and/or weaknesses. This half day workshop will help you comprehend how the OTCI works and how it might be used in your organization.

Team Building With Horses

Bring your business, or team out for a day of growth and learning. You will learn how to build a successful work team from one of the most successful teams on the planet, the horse herd. Horses live in a herd, much like our human social systems. They have distinct roles, way of communicating, holding boundaries and efficiently and effectively keeping the herd safe, fed, connected and content. Gain clarity about how you function personally and professionally as individuals and as a group. Specifically, develop insights into how you communicate, make decisions, lead, hold boundaries and show up authentically. Archetypes and You, Understanding Your Individual Strengths and Weaknesses

This half day workshop will explore the Jungian concept of Archetypes. It will begin by having you take an assessment which will define your predominant archetypes. Then, the workshop will continue with an exploration of how archetypes help define your strengths and weaknesses. By gaining this understanding, you will begin to comprehend how you function.
